Meta-Tags
Meta-tags are acceptable and play an important role in search engine submission. They are not visible on the HTML page, but are written within the source; therefore, they are not visible to page visitors, but they are picked up by the search engines. Meta tags are key to generating search engine traffic to your client’s website.
Basically, there are three types of meta tags; the title, the keywords and the description. The three components are equally important because the search engines use them differently. Some search engines may search by title only while some search by keyword and others consider all three components in determining which sites are most relevant to the browsers search request. Understanding meta tags is imperative in gaining top search engine ranking.
